My mother is a good-hearted woman. She is involved in more causes than there are cats at a shelter (one of those causes, BTW.) Especially close to her heart, though, is Go Red for Women, the American Heart Association’s fight to raise awareness of heart disease in women.
In 2009, she asked me to make a quilt for her organization’s annual auction. That quilt now hangs here, in the cardiac center at Lawrence Memorial (my hometown hospital)…

This year, my mom was the co-chair of her Go Red chapter’s fundraising event. Not surprising to anyone who knows her, they raised more money this year than in any past year. I seriously ❤ my mom! Go Mom! Go Red!
