Come for the Weather – Stay for the Pillows

I moved to San Diego from the midwest and my husband moved here from the east coast, so we’ve got family living pretty much all over. When someone comes to visit us here in America’s finest city, it’s a BIG deal.

And, well, when I hear BIG, I think BIG Pillows!

So naturally, for our guestroom, I created this series of San Diego BIG pillows each featuring a t-shirt from a San Diego area attraction, including
BIGsandiego

San Diego Zoo ~
The World Famous San Diego Zoo is home to more than 4,000 animals representing more than 800 species from around the globe.

USS Midway ~
Once the longest serving US Navy carrier, the USS Midway, with it’s collection of 27 restored aircraft, is now the most-visited floating ship museum in the world.

LEGOLAND California ~
128 acres of rides and attractions geared specifically towards kids who love Lego building blocks (though I loved it, too, and I’m no where near the intended age :D)

Birch Aquarium ~
Part of the world-renowned Scripps Institution of Oceanography at UCSD, Birch Aquarium features more than 60 fish and invertebrate habitats (check out their online Kelp Cam)

SeaWorld ~
Known for spectacular animal shows, SeaWorld San Diego is an ideal place to learn about some of the ocean’s most fascinating creatures.

Natural History Museum ~
Affectionately known as theNAT, this museum promotes understanding of the natural world through research, education and really cool exhibits.

If you make it out Whimzie Quiltz way, I’d definitely recommend you visit each of these attractions. Once you’ve finished your tour of all the San Diego quilt shops, of course!
