Are You Game for a Quilt?

Increasingly popular and a great way to reconnect with family and friends, hosting regular game nights are all the rage. But don’t forget to include custom quilts in the competitive fun. After all, it’s not whether you win or lose, it’s how warm you are while playing!

Because of the contrasting square pattern, Tic Tac Toe or Checkers boards make perfect small quilts. Add fabric covered buttons for playing pieces and you’ve got a soft twist on sentimental old favorites. Speaking of “twists” on much loved games, how great would it be to play Twister on an extra fluffy quilt designed by Whimzie Quiltz to cushion the inevitable collapse! (Left hand on the red appliquéd dot; right foot on the green appliquéd dot…) If you like your games a little more on the sedate side, though, tabletop-size quilts make great puzzle mats – decorative and easy to roll up for storage if you can’t finish 5000 pieces in one sitting.

More Inspiration…

Take nine traditional 9-Patch quilting blocks and nine of your favorite fabrics, place them so each row in the quilt contains one of each fabric and you have one of the biggest trends in quilting right now – Sudoku quilts! What a terrific gift for big fans of this challenging game.

    WQ and You Charity Giving
Because of caring Whimzie Quiltz customers like you, we are already $50 towards our goal of donating $500 to Doctors without Borders, an international medical and humanitarian organization, in 2010.

Remember, my husband and I are contributing $25 for every free quilt design requested and $25 for every custom quilt ordered, as long as the design or the quilt includes WHITE fabrics. It costs you nothing, but each $25 donation based on your request will will help deliver health care and emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics and natural or man-made disasters in more than 60 countries.
